Cornell Cinema presents* King Corn*, a humorous and lively introduction to
the corn industrial complex

Director Aaron Woolf follows two college grads--Ian Cheney and Curt
Ellis--as they head to Iowa to grow an acre of corn, and in the process
explore the alternating hilarity and horrific reality of the crop that has
changed America's diet in ways most people can't possibly imagine. "Neatly,
and often humorously, summarizes a very unhealthy situation." (*SF Chronicle
*) "The film's light hand, appealing style, and simple exposition make it an
eminently watchable inquiry into the politics of food and public health,
accessible to the documentary-shy and wildly appropriate for older kids, who
may further respond to its generational emphasis." (*Austin Chronicle*) A
35mm film print will screen on* Thursday through Saturday, May 8 - 10, at
7:15pm each night, in Willard Straight Theatre.* More at kingcorn.net The
screenings are cosponsored with the Finger Lakes Environmental Film
Festival. Call 255-3522 or visit cinema.cornell.edu for more information.
