Hi Kat, I have given myself to the Musefest organizers to do with me what they will. I may not have time for chanting my favorite "compost" mantra. However, I'll see you there if I don't see you sooner.
Good luck. This year the festival will begin on Friday, August 22 and conclude Sunday, August 24. In exchange for only 8 hours of volunteering, you will receive a free ticket into the festival. In continuing with last year's theme, we will be continuing commercial composting efforts for collecting food waste from both the vendors and festival goers. Similar to the Ithaca Festival, this means that volunteers will help person stations at key times of the day and explain what materials are to be placed in the bins. This is integral to ensuring a clean compost product with minimal contamination. In addition to helping with the composting efforts, volunteers will be assisting with the collecting and sorting of materials, including recyclables. These duties all help to make a cleaner environment and festival. In order to make this a successful initiative, we need your help. Volunteer with the waste reduction crew and make a positive impact!
