both applications you mention rely on plugin/browser communication (html to svg / svg to html, several svgs embedded in html, scripts loaded by html called by svg, ...) And all this just works with IE. Between ASV and other browsers this communication is broken - well to be correct, there is browserEval() which gives you a bridge from ASV to the browser (so you could call functions inside html e.g.) - but not the other way around, thus there is no communication between embedded svgs possible -> svg to html to svg.
