Altsoft N.V. announces the release of version 2.2 of its Xml2PDF formatting engine. New XSL-FO features are: - complete support for Unicode BiDi algorithm; - support for soft-hyphen based hyphenation; - improved performance and memory usage; - support for PDF and EPS as external graphics formats; - added control over maximal images resolution (all images above a fixed resolution are downsampled); New SVG features are: - support for markers; - support for symbols; - improved performance and memory usage; New XHTML features are: - SVG can be used as both external and internal graphics; - support for Flash animation; - partial form tags support; - improved support for national character sets; Starting from version 2.2 Client UI and Command Line editions are combined into Workstation edition available for $49. All editions of Xml2PDF formatting engine, which include Workstation, Hotfolder, XmlSpy Plug-in and .NET API, are automatically updated. Altsoft Xml2PDF is a .NET based formatting engine for converting various XML-based formats to PDF. It supports XSL-FO, SVG, XHTML, XML+XSLT as an input and generates PDF as an output.
