Hi,

SVG is in use at many places - here are a few:
http://www.hmaservice.com/svgdemo/ (electronics)
http://www.wpsenergy.com/JayNick/default.asp (control systems, real
time data display)
http://tirolatlas.uibk.ac.at/ for maps/atlas, charts/diagrams and
games.
http://www.bundeswahlleiter.de/wahlen/europawahl2004/informationen/svg/src/start.htm

(map)
http://www.destatis.de/onlineatlas/ maps/atlas
http://www.oaklandtracks.com/replay/svg/Airfield.svg (airtraffic
map)

http://www.statistics.gov.uk/census2001/censusmaps/index_new.html
(maps)

there are many more of course.

you can find more links at www.svgx.org, www.svg.org and
www.svgopen.org.

The fact that one requires a plugin that is not widely installed, is
of course a problem that SVG content authors have to deal with. This
is why many pages explicitly tell the user to install the plugin
first, if they have not done yet.

But there is hope that with Mozilla/Firefox and Opera 8 and above
the situation will change. Also, we hope that Adobe will soon
release a new plugin version to address problems with the old
plugin.
