Hi Andreas,

There are a couple of considerations that I think apply - I'm not a DB2
expert but there is a document called "ArcSDE Configuration & Tuning Guide
for DB2" available at

http://support.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=knowledgebase.documentation.viewDoc
<http://support.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=knowledgebase.documentation.viewDoc&PI
D=19&MetaID=1009> &PID=19&MetaID=1009

that gives some detail on accessing DB2 Spatial Extender geometry through
the ArcSDE C API or ODBC calls to the DB2 Spatial Extender spatial
functions.

I wouldn't call it a solution, but it is the best place to start.

If you're really game, there are another couple of documents:

http://arcsdeonline.esri.com/Support_files/general_topics/binary_geometry_fo
rmat.htm

http://arcsdeonline.esri.com/Support_files/general_topics/storing_geo_in_rdb
ms.html

that hold out the possibility of interpreting the raw binary in the geometry
field of the table without relying on any "interpreters" - not for the faint
hearted though.

Cheers

Alan Keown

Subject: [svg-developers] IBM DB2 Spatial and SVG?

Hi all,

Anyone knows resources on how to convert data from IBM DB2 spatial
extension or ESRI ARC SDE to SVG?

I have to use DB2 and ArcSDE in one of my projects and am looking
for a solution how to convert the data to SVG.

Thanks,
Andreas
