The newest available Opera for Symbian is 6.2, that doesn't have SVG, no
date has been announced for even Opera 7 on Symbian, let alone Opera 8 with
SVG.

Nokia, despite going with Opera in previous Symbian devices, chose in their
3G Symbian SVG supporting phone to go with Netfront.

Mobile browsers are currently dominated by in-house browsers from Nokia or
similar, Nokia have shown at the last SVG Open their own excellent SVG
renderer.

I see no reason why this announcement suggests that Opera might start
dominating the market, it's simply a very late entry into a market that
already has very strong players.

Jim.
