Whatever happens whether good or bad will be a bonus, if SVG is dropped then so be it we can all move on, if not and SVG is implemented then we can all be happier, what is worse now is not knowing, and its been like this for years.
One thing that did surprise me the other day was Microsoft Visio 2003 saves out as svg and svgz.
