Hi, this is probably because you use an old version of Batik/FOP. If you upgrade to the newest version it should work fine. At least it worked for me. However, it rasterizes objects with transparency. You can, however control the resolution with batik-rasterizer. I would also suggest that you use batik-rasterizer directly instead of going through a xsl-fo, if you only want to convert svg to pdf. In case you still have problems, I would suggest you post at the Batik and/or FOP mailinglists instead of this general svg mailinglist. There are certainly alternatives to Batik/FOP. I got the best results with the Adobe Graphics Server, but it is quite expensive. You could also try other commercial XSL-FO converters. SVG is supported by almost any XSL-FO tool.
