well yes and no, with ASV there is no cross-plattform way, but as it works in deerpark, there is a way to get this working on any OS. and i believe KSVG2 will implement this feature ,too (on Konqueror(linux) and Safari(Mac)). also my experience tells me that there are several issues with ASV3 on linux, and some quirks on the MAC, so in my opinion, ASV is not really cross-plattform. so to get this working relieably, we probably have to wait another 6 month or so to get widespread support on all plattforms. if the new versions of Konqueror, Safari and Firefox come out, inter-document-communication will work at least in these three browsers, and in IE+ASV3/6. you then have at least 2 different options on every major OS to view such documents.
