Thanks for you comments and good wishes.

I think one thing most important, not only for the MobiusPortal 
ViewPort (i.e. the client-side ap that views updated SVG images), 
but for all folks that want to create dynamic SVG documents:

Use esentially a 'blank' SVG document as a recipient of XML data 
files for layers, and other dynamic changes to that document. The 
client-side can then process the XML data files to load/change the 
SVG document.

If this method is used, then the XML elements can be 
compressed/customized for the client-side translation into SVG 
elements.

This provides a very efficient means of quickly updating dynamic SVG 
drawings.
