Hi: It is a very useful trick. I found the reason in this way. It is actually simple, I passed a query string containing '.'. It seems that to send such query will not confuse the running of cgi script (no error found in log file) but will prevent IE to display svg using plugins. It seems not a problem for firefox (because not using plugin?).
