Hmm. This looks to me like code for "we want to stay relevant in the SVG Mobile market, but think that SVG-Full on the browser is a dead end".
I can't say I'm surprized at all. SVG-Full has proven to be a killer to implement, and the overhead in transport and processing has been discussed regularly on this group as a point agains SVG-Full in the web context. I can't say I would be sad to see SVG-Full be replaced with SVGt+script.
