As a relative newcomer myself, I would encourage other newcomers by pointing out that this can be a remarkably helpful group. I took a couple of hours today to get some of my simpler JavaScript animations working for Firefox -- most of the problems were easy to fix (Namespace declarations in SVG tags and hiding scripts in [[CDATA and so forth) ; take a peek at the ones with asterisks at http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/SVGAnimations.htm -- if anyone sees a way to improve performance of any of these, please let me know, as the window.setTimeout loops seem sluggish in FF.
