Thanks Geoffrey. I'm certain it's something simple, but just can't quite put my finger on it.
I don't think it's anything to do with the mime type, as the I-Frame rendering works. I'm leaning towards namespaces, but it's complex as I'm not sure where I can add the svg namespace in. I've even created my own version of an XMLWebPart and added the namespace in there, with no luck. I guess it needs to go "higher up" somewhere. Somebody must be doing this somewhere! Argh...
