It sounds like the behaviour you describe is due to unoptimised code,  
rather than a bug as such. I presume the developers are aware of it, and  
will check, so no need for a bug report.

I'll follow that up. It is important to us that where possible there is a  
spec for implementors, not just a habit of more-or-less  
reverse-engineering each other...
