Nice design!

You broke down the parts too much. Make the scorner and bcorners one
path and eliminate the yellow circles. Your code after the </def>
line and before the <g id="triangles" class="yel" > should be:

        <circle cx="0" cy="0" r="1.822" class="yel" />
        <circle cx="0" cy="0" r="1.755" class="mag" />
        <circle cx="0" cy="0" r="1.688" class="yel" />

        <!--Radius was 1.482, but I reduced it so that you can't see the
seam.-->

        <circle cx="0" cy="0" r="1.620" class="mag" />

        <g id="scorners">

                <path d="M+0.263,-1.324 A 0.132,0.132 0 0,0 +0.145,-1.475 A
0.162,0.162 0 0,1 +0.000,-1.620 A 0.162,0.162 0 0,1 -0.145,-1.475 A
0.132,0.132 0 0,0 -0.263,-1.324" class="yel" />
        </g>

        <use xlink:href="#scorners" transform="rotate(22.5)" />
        <use xlink:href="#scorners" transform="rotate(45.0)" />
        <use xlink:href="#scorners" transform="rotate(67.5)" />
        <use xlink:href="#scorners" transform="rotate(90.0)" />
        <use xlink:href="#scorners" transform="rotate(112.5)" />

        <use xlink:href="#scorners" transform="rotate(337.5)" />

        <!--Radius was 1.196, but I reduced it so that you can't see the
seam.-->

        <circle cx="0" cy="0" r="1.350" class="mag" />

        <g id="bcorners">

        <use xlink:href="#bcorners" transform="rotate(270)" />
        <use xlink:href="#bcorners" transform="rotate(315)" />

        <circle cx="0" cy="0" r="1.000" class="rad1" />

Enjoy!
