I suggest that you discuss this on the Batik Users and/or developer mailing 
list. It probably 
needs some discussion with the developers.

It would be nice, if you find a good solution, if you let this list know as 
well.

Are you aware that SVG is supported in Opera9, Firefox and the upcoming Safari 
and 
Konqueror browser?

So if you could point your customers to an alternative browser it might be 
easier than 
having to deal with Batik as a plugin. This doesn't mean that it would be 
interesting to 
know if Batik works within IE as a plugin/applet.

Please let us know the outcome of your research.
