Hi group,

at http://www.geofoto.ch/geophotomap/ you may find a photo browser for
geographically
referenced photos.

The application works in ASV3/ASV6/Batik/FF2.0 and FF3.0 and Opera 9. For some
reasons I still get crashes in Opera9. Will work on that and hopefully find a
solution.

The application is developed with SVG and ECMAScript and a PostgreSQL/Postgis
database,
as well as the UMN Mapserver for raster data extraction.

One interesting part might be the GUI. It is developed using the carto.net
widgets, but its
appearance/functionality is described in XML. All parameters of the GUI are
described in
XML, a JS parser translates the XML language into SVG widgets. This way it is
easier/
quicker to make layout changes.

see http://www.geofoto.ch/geophotomap/geophotos_map.xml for an example XML file.

I am also working on another project, using such a GUI XML file where the GUI
adopts to
the available browser window size. Will post that application later.

Best wishes,
Andreas
