Hi Guy, What Jayne calls a "quick fade from one image into another" is really an SVG image fading into a BG image in the html with the constraint of having to cope with the transparency problem on different platforms, coupled with the delicacies of style misalignments graciously provided by IE. With a couple of tricks I found I managed to have it happening in all browers/platforms, with no jumps. Dirty tricks.
With the computer industry I would rather go by months than decades, like the '90s. That said, working with designers you learn to not even question trends. They make trends :) Sometimes it can just be a remake. Paula Gillen is an artist and everything for her site was designed with meaningfulness as a complement of her personality and work. The intent of colors and shapes is not accidental, nor casual, including the splash animation. And finally, Aphrodite's head is her logo, sort of. Some may be interested in the transparency solution, or rather the bypass: http://www.dotuscomus.com/previews/paula/ without the svg: http://paulagillen.com/ Domenico --- In [email protected], "jayne_de_sesa" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > agreed, opening animations are annoying, but the client wanted it so we acquiesed. it was a > very simple and quick fade from one image into another, no more. > > --- In [email protected], Guy Morton <guy@> wrote: > > > > Splash screens for web sites are so 90s anyway, you're better off > > without them altogether. :-) > > > > Guy > > > ----- To unsubscribe send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -or- visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svg-developers and click "edit my membership" ---- Yahoo!
