Assumption 5 of 5: 5. The copyright notice (that appears on at least some of these) is just to make sure that the stuff doesn't mutate over time. A creative commons license would have accomplished much the same purpose. That is, no one is likely to challenge divergent national treatments of fair use in international courts over use of such material in, for example, a classroom setting?
