Hi Pat,

This is very good news. Thanks!

I agree, however, with Jon, that Adobe should at least maintain ASV3
for say another 2-3 years until IE has native SVG support. This
includes making sure that it properly works in IE7 and Windows Vista
and fixing a few pressing issues, like supporting .getScreenCTM(),
cursors and fixing bugs where ASV violates the SVG specifications.
Thats a responsibility that Adobe really should take. Please note
that I am not asking for new features (like SVG 1.2), but for bug
fixes and filling gaps where ASV really falls behind other SVG 1.1
implementations. I would be happy to contribute a list of issues that
really should be addressed.

ASV is not that important for other browsers, in my opinion, since
they already have native SVG support which is not perfect yet, but
gradually improving. Making ASV available for those browsers would
remove pressure on the browser vendors to properly support SVG
natively.

Thanks a lot Pat, best wishes and thanks for considering my request,
Andreas
