I'd like to know if there is a way of getting a path element height
and width, without testing all its coordinates.
i need to know it in order to get a FULL EXTENT tool...well, i could
use some ajax to ask the server, but with a lot of paths it would be
expensive...
I m enjoying this making svg maps scene.
--------
suppose
P=document.getElementById("P")
where
<path id="P" d="M 100 100 C 200 300 300 0 400 100" [and so forth] >
then R=P.getBoundingBox() will be a virtual rectangle
with R.x, R.y, R.width, and R.height giving numbers representing the maximal
extents reached by the path. This is supported by the major browsers.
cheers,
DD
