Here's a little thing I cobbled together that combines certain experiments with textures and scenes.
http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/texture/texturepage.htm Included are some attempts at making textures like wood grain or fire, either stationary or moving (as with SMIL or script) and scenes like mountains. I'm missing examples of a few obvious things like water, marble and earth. It is meant to be fun. These examples make extensive use of filters (like feTurbulence, displacementMap and feMerge) and of course gradients. All but a few of them work in IE and Opera 9. Almost none work in FF1.5, though I haven't been so adventurous to deal with FF3 to see what it may handle. It's kind of interesting to see just how much one can make starting with feTurbulence and stacking other filters on top of that. Please let me know if you have additions or improvements. It would be sort of fun to collect a bundle of such things from several people. If anyone has spare money or grant writers around, we could have a contest. David Dailey [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------ Yahoo!
