I have an SVG based application which uses ASV 3 plugin on IE browser. It's a 10,000+ line c++ code which generates SVG file that gets rendered on IE browser using ASV 3 plugin.
Now that Adobe has discontinued support on ASV 3 plugin, am looking for a best possible migration of my current application both in short and long run. My mandatory requirement is to support at least IE And Firefox. Efforts on short term goals: Just because I am wary of the fact that Adobe may stop hosting ASV plugin(although they announced the support for indefinite downloadability), I was exploring Renesis plugin on IE browser but has lot issues (Zoom/pan doesn't even work). I am about to try SilverLight using SVG-XAML conversion tools. Do you think of other viable alternatives to leverage the existing code (with 0 or minimal code change)? Efforts on long term goals: Adobe has suggested Flex 2 technology as an alternative when they announced EOL for ASV 3 plugin. I am exploring if there is a way to convert SVG to Flash format. I guess, in the worst case I will have to re-write the entire application(my 10,000+ lines of c++ code is obsolete now!!)- which obviously I try to avoid. What is your advice here on possible alternative technologies? ----- To unsubscribe send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -or- visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svg-developers and click "edit my membership" ---- Yahoo!
