hi,

i thought i was immune against such problems but having to install
several programs the past days i run into the situation that i cannot
open local SVG files in Firefox or Gran Paradiso anymore on WinXP
(serverbased anything is okay)

settings in the win file associations are okay (Firefox starts) but in
there i always get the "choose program"-box (and selecting FF just
reopens it again). when FF is already open the situation stays the same.
pointing the win file associations towards Opera, Opera starts and
opens the files as desired. deleting file associations just changes the
"choose program"-box, it shows no more proposal.

my installed versions: FF2.0.0.7 and FF3.0a8 (same with FF3.0a7 before).
the most intrigating thing: i didn't change any FF settings those
days. the options>application tab in FF doesn't show any SVG related entry.

installed software those days: GPS-related stuff and infelicitous me MS
Office 2000.

anyone having an idea what other things i could check?

thanks,
andré
