Jerrold,

one issue is the embedding of rdf metadata such as copyright.
these images could easily have had the attribution in the svg.
like this: http://www.w3.org/Icons/SW/sw-cube-v.svg
unfortunately it then doesn't validate for svg or rdf, but that's  
another story.

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Weather_symbols
doesn't yet have this metadata

almost every svg on the peepo websites is public domain.
