Here's one of the ways out of many attempts that I've tried:

<svg width="100%" height="100%" version="1.1" viewbox="0 0 600 400"
preserveAspectRatio="xMidYMid meet"
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg";>

Is this the syntax that you were suggesting?

This doesn't seem to make any difference in the final outcome.

I got the <pageSet> idea from the w3c site:

  http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/WD-SVG12-20041027/multipage.html

They didn't mention that no one was implementing this feature ;(

I'm a little surprised. I can't be the only person who needs to print
out over multiple pages.
