I haven't tried Opera 9.62, yet. There may be differences. I'm also not
measuring the CPU time at all.

I've added code to sample the number of line updates in a given time
period and using this to calculate the number of updates per second.

I've added the ability to change the time passed to setInterval, since
this obviously modifies the rate at which we update the data.

The good news is that (unlike a few years ago) everyone is fast enough
to render both files smoothly.

As I get my notes into a usable form, I'll send updates to the list.
