It sounds like you are using Batik. A more specific mailing list,
batik-users [1], is available from Batik-centric questions. :-)

This sounds serious hacking - are you sure you want to do this? Why
not simply using a JSVGCanvas [2]? ;-)

the objects should be re-used". In Batik there are situations where
exceptions are expected to be thrown, although most usually they are
caused by not following the thread-safe guidelines [3]... :-|
