Pioneered by the Mozilla Foundation with the release of the new Firefox web browser, SVML brings the best features of SVG and HTML together to be shared. HTML text handling, forms and database output can now be used in a scalable setting with all the graphic and layout capabilities of SVG.
SVML also brings back the original intent of the internet to be a simple and easy to use medium for the exchange of information. It addresses the codification of the web by re-empowering the 99% of users who are not javascript programmers. Wouldn't that be a neat press release to receive from a corporation? Don't hold your breath. Until the day arrives you're stuck with me. The above is true, but first, currently it only works with Firefox. I am not a big Firefox fan. My disdain of the company centers on the management, not with the contributing code programmers, they are the cream of the crop and blow away the others. The method works well but of course could use improvements. Scrolling speed is slow on low powered computers. I put together two simplistic demos, neither one completely functional. I put them out there for anyone else who is interested in SVG web design. Talk about the one percent, more like .01 percent. If anyone could kick the tires and take the method for a spin I would appreciate feedback. I don't have the resources to test it with Firefox mobile on a tablet, or with Explorer. Maybe someone could comment on the use of iFrames, good or bad? You'll find the demos under the UI Examples on my website. I set the site up as a portal so I don't have a direct link. http://jdsvg.com James ------------------------------------ ----- To unsubscribe send a message to: [email protected] -or- visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svg-developers and click "edit my membership" ----Yahoo!
