Another item that’s commonly missed is run the hostid rc.d script, e.g., service hostid restart If you don’t do that, then the zpool import may fail as the cached hostid might differ between the last export and most current import attempt. I always have to do this from ISO-based install media as the temporary path for the cached hostid is not writable on CDs/DVDs.
