I don't know, but was thinking of something like "this change makes X and Z scenarios now possible; if you're worried about this you might want to chmod -x /libexec/ld-elf.so.1 to restore previous behavior". BTW, would chmod -x /libexec/ld-elf.so.1 break anything from now on?
