Hi all, I'm starting to give some thought to updating the ~svn PPA for Subversion 1.7.8 and Ubuntu raring.
Whilst doing so, it's come to my attention that it's time to consider dropping support for old Ubuntu releases. So far, we've built packages for hardy, and lucid through quantal. Support for maverick has been officially removed from the PPA build service (and rightly so, it's been EOL for ages). This means we no longer have an unbroken series of supported distros back to lucid, which prompts the question of when we should drop support for natty and oneiric too. Natty is already EOL. Oneiric passes EOL in just 1 month. My inclination is to drop support for natty now, and oneiric as soon as it officially goes EOL. Furthermore, we need to consider what our plans are for support for hardy. Hardy also officially transitions to full EOL status in 1 month. It being a LTS, I'm inclined to be a little more relaxed about it, but once it has passed EOL, I'll probably suggest dropping the packages next time some non-trivial backport annoyance affects only hardy. PLEASE SPEAK UP WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS IF YOU ARE OPPOSED TO ME DELETING THE MAVERICK AND NATTY PACKAGES FROM THE PPA. Thanks, Max. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~svn Post to : svn@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~svn More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
