Unfortunately the log didn't help.

Maybe the problem is with auth manager. Try the following approach

SVNClientManager clientManager = SVNClientManager.newInstance();
clientManager.setAuthenticationManager(SVNWCUtil.createDefaultAuthenticationManager());
try {
        SVNLogClient logClient = clientManager.getLogClient();
        logClient.doLog(...);
} finally {
        clientManager.dispose();
}

SVNWCUtil.createDefaultAuthenticationManager() means to get auth options from 
.subversion/config file

You may have a look to SVNLogCommand to find differences between jsvn and your 
code (SVNLogCommand calls
a lot of setters logClient.setXXX() to configure all appropriate callbacks).
