Is it possible to check out 1.6 working copy with 1.7 client?

I've upgraded to svnkit 1.7.5v1, and I'm noticing that whenever I do a
checkout, the working copy format is always 1.7. I've looked through the
documentation, but I can't find a way to specify the desired working copy
format, for example, to do a checkout so the working copy format is 1.6. Is
this possible?
