Wow, I
guess there's always another side. But as a relatively active buyer, and a
rare seller. I'm happy to see it. I was worried PayPal might be
banned from ebay in favor of Billpoint. This should make things easier for
me.
Hugh
Not to me. I for one do not want eBay to be
able to look through my PayPal history and see how much money I make
from all of my (non-eBay related) transactions. I've been dreading
this for months now, and am debating cancelling my PayPal account based on
this merger.

Subject: [SWCollect] FW: News about
PayPal and eBay!
This sounds like welcome news to me. I'm
sure most of you received this, but just in case....
;)
It's official! eBay's acquisition of PayPal
is complete. We are now working together with a common goal: to help
buyers and sellers trade online.
If you're one of the many eBay
community members who already use PayPal to complete transactions, this
should come as great news. In fact, you may be one of the many members
who told us that you'd like to have PayPal available as a payment option on
the eBay site.
Over the next few weeks, you'll begin to notice what
we call our "integration process." The first change you see will be on
the Sell Your Item and View Item pages, where it will be easy to include
PayPal as a payment option in item listings. In the coming months,
more changes will be made -- to make trading on eBay faster, safer and more
convenient for the entire eBay community.
If you currently use eBay
Payments by Billpoint, please note that it will be available until after the
first of the year. At that time we will work closely with you to
ensure a smooth transition throughout Billpoint's phase-out
process.
We'll be keeping you informed with more details about these
changes over the next few weeks. You can find more information at: http://www.ebay.com/paypal/preview/index.html..
Also, please join us on October 16th for a Townhall Meeting to discuss the
integration with eBay and PayPal management. Keep checking the announcement
board for more details.
We're delighted to be able to answer the
community's request to make PayPal easier to use on eBay. We hope this
new development will make trading even better for you and spur you on to
further success on eBay.
Happy Trading,
eBay
