I just won an auction where the seller was using Vendio services, and I have
to say it was an extremely slick end-user experience for payment. Multiple
payment types were handled automatically by Vendio (including auto-forwarding
to PayPal) and, as a potential seller myself, I was impressed. Does anyone
here on this list use or know someone who uses these "auction assist" services
and find them worthwhile? Anyone know of a more appropriate one for
infrequent/casual sellers?
(I ask because every time I start getting things organized to auction off, I
get overwhelmed by the number of options I have available to me. I end up
scrapping the whole idea after looking at rules, fees, and options for four
hours...)
PS: I (and Brian and Dave) are going to the Classic Gaming Expo in Las Vegas
the weekend of August 9th. We'll be at the MobyGames table, so feel free to
stop by and chat. We're not explicitly selling anything; we're just trying to
get more people involved in contributing to the MobyGames database -- spread
the good word and all that.
Next year I'm going to schedule vacation for PhillyClassic or wherever we all
decide to meet up -- blanked faces or not ;-) I'm very envious of those who
were able to go.
