I'm with you. Long-time members of this list may remember my diatribe about "Why doesn't everyone just bid their absolute max and walk away?" thread (which was pleasantly and humorously disproven by Chris Forman when he stated he watches other people to see what they bid on :-). For me, it's about owning the item, now how I come to obtain it.


For many people it *is* about how you obtain it. I'm no stranger to psychology -- I used it in creating MobyGames' contribution rating system :-). Which, thankfully, has worked properly and for the right reasons (so far).
