Unfortunately, all of my games are still in storage.  I close on my new house on the 12th.  I hope to be in by the end of the month.  The first order of business is to unleash the collection!     However, I also worked in retail during the 80's (EB and others), and I know that our re-shrinking machine would leave 3 seams around a box.  Re-shrinking is like placing the game in a pouch with only one permanent side.  The other three sides are sealed by the heating element leaving the "lines."   I can't think of many generic rules to apply to detecting shrinkwrap type.  The best way is through texture and alignment quality and that requires experience.  Of course, the 1/4" holes in the wrap are a very good sign that it is original, but not all original wrap have the holes.    I have to agree with Jim about upside-down boxes.  I unpacked thousands of games at EB and can't recall ever seeing an upside-down box.  The only time I saw it was on re-shrink.  I'm sure there are exceptions though, but don't bet on it.   Hugh -----Original Message----- From: Stefan Lindblom [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, September 02, 2003 3:14 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [SWCollect] Shrinked SSI games I agree with Tom on this one... for once ;)   "Lines" on each side of the box, as well as the bottom.. but NOT on the top... that appears to me as if that is an original wrapping. Demon's Winter, Questron II, Gemstone Healer, Hillsfar and Death Knights. All have the "line" on each side and the bottom, no line on the top. Some of the serious SSI collectors probably have a lot more of these than me, maybe check your boxes?
