That does sound like it could be useful. Interestingly, if you have a swf created in swfmill that does a shared lib import of another swf, and you look at the XML generated from that swf with swf2xml, it lists all the export IDs from that swf. In the test I tried it was actually quite redundant in this listing of id's, seemed to generate a line in the XML for every keyframe for which an exported movieclip symbol had an instance in a timeline. I actually removed all the redundancies and converted back to a (somewhat smaller) swf (xml2swf) with no apparent issues.
