Initially, this sounds like a corrupt Flash player install to me. Can you verify what version of Flash this detection page shows: http://www.bobbyvandersluis.com/swfobject/testsuite_2_1/test_api_getflashpla yerversion.html
If you get a different version that what you believe you have installed, then IE has messed up the registration of your Flash player, and you should uninstall / reinstall using the uninstaller as described on the FAQ #2: http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/wiki/faq Aran -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Carson Sent: Tuesday, 25 November 2008 2:31 AM To: SWFObject Subject: Dynamic Syntax on IE8 For the life of me, I can't get the dynamic syntax to work on IE8 beta 2...including the test swf and index_dynamic.html that come with the download. All I get is the content to download and install the Flash Player which I most definitely already have. The standard index.html version works fine but we would really rather not use that syntax. Is this a knows issue? I've looked all over to see if it is and I see earlier issues on beta 1 but nothing referencing new issues on beta 2.
