The detection return value should be the same on all browsers (kind of the
point of writing a library which will work for all site visitors :)

If you just want to know if they have a specific player you require, you
could use swfobject.hasFlashPlayerVersion(versionStr).

if (swfobject.hasFlashPlayerVersion("9.0.18"))
{
  // has Flash
}
else
{
  // no Flash
}

Hi,

I am using just a simple

swfobject.getFlashPlayerVersion().major)

I checked on firefox (disabled flash player) and it returns '0'. So a
check to a zero value would kind of simulate a flash detection. Does
somebody know whether this behaviour is the same for all browsers?

thanks.
