Re: violates XHTML.  Yes.  Agreed.  My understanding is that it was a best
case scenario for the SWFObject team to avoid that error you mention.  I
admit, I might be on the lesser represented side on this issue, but I tend
not to see the point of adhering to a standard that no browser actually
implements particularly well vs. generating code that does the job.  Based
on that, I suppose you could guess that I'm not an XHTML purist, and I
admire the folks who are --- i just tend to lend greater weight to the "does
it work" test vs. the "does it validate" test.

My apologies for continuing a dead thread.  I'm glad you were able to get
things working on your end?
