I've been using swfobject 2.1 on a project and I've found that when I've got a page that uses it to embed a Flash piece, when the page is navigated to in Firefox, the HTML elements that should be cached and appear instantly don't, there is a flickering where I see the page background image followed by the other elements being rendered. On the pages without swfobject embeds the common elements on the page will essentially stay on screen while the rest of the content loads.
I thought that maybe 2.2 would have fixed it but I found the opposite. With 2.2 any page that includes swfobject (and the js init code) would cause the flicker even if there were no Flash pieces on the page. I normally use the dynamic embedding technique but I tried static and saw no change in the behavior. I've found this to be an issue on Firefox 2 and 3 on both Mac and Windows XP. This is not an issue on Safari 3/4 nor IE 6/7/8. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SWFObject" group.
