Yes, you can use js dom methods to check if an element exists (Google is
your friend on that)

What I stated the first time is still correct though. You should only be
calling 1 embedSWF() call based on logic of the current page. What I was
suggestring was to only ever have on <div> (which exists in all pages) which
can be written into with the correct swf.
