It appears a recent release of Google Pagespeed (v1.3) broke any sites using 
SWFObject. They've released a patch which fixes the issue, so anyone with 
Pagespeed 1.3 should upgrade to avoid problems with their SWFObject sites.

The minor change made to their code is quite odd that it fixes the problem. It 
would be good if we could do some testing to find out why SWFObject was 
susceptible to this problem. It may just be some quirk in Mozilla's code, or it 
may be something we're doing that makes the Mozilla code more vulnerable. The 
ticket above has a link to the changeset so you can see the minor code change 
they made.
