hi steve!

i am not sure if i can help you out but, if you are trying to update a
div layers content
with an 'onclick' event using the swfObject2. You might want to take a
look at
Philip Hutchison's explanation on how to "use an 'onclick' event to
dynamically load
a SWF.

http://pipwerks.com/swfobject/load-onclick/2.0/index.html

he says that loading and unloading multiple SWFs can lead to memory
leaks.
thats where the removeSWF() method comes into play.
so a swfobject.amendSWF, wouldn't that mean that you just load the new
SWF
on top of the loaded SWF?
which leads to the fact that you end up with several SWF files in your
browser.
sorry if i could not help you out, but if you find a solution please
let me know.
i dont like the issue of the objects closing down and open back up
either.
it just doesnt look nice and smooth. (-:

regards, david
