I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to accomplish. However, if you want something that entertains the user in the footprint of your swf while it is loading, that is what the default content is for.
<div id="myDiv">This is what the user gets to see while my SWFObject is loading</div> would seem to be reasonable. The text can be replaced by a "loading..." graphic if desired. While I don't think this answer addresses what you are trying to accomplish hopefully this gets dialog moving...?
