Most players use a separate jpg file as the thumbnail/poster frame of the video. The video is only loaded when the user presses play etc. This is to save the bandwidth of downloading the FLV file just to show the first frame, as it is hard/ cumbersome to cancel the loading of a video file (after getting enough data to display the first frame etc) through the netstream class. My previous reply about using Flowplayer/JW Media player still stands :)
